Horton is the builder of this centrally located Carolina Forest new home community that has easy access to highway 501 and highway 31 and the newly expanded International Drive. Horry County government has approved over 700 single family lots for development in this community. This community is in close proximity to Ocean Bay Elementary and Ocean Bay Middle School as well as the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology, which is a branch school of the Horry County Schools system that has a focus on specific career majors and has qualifying status as a Blue Ribbon School.

As of April 2024, 799 single family homes have been developed with another 16 single family homes left to be developed in this Carolina Forest new home community. There are also another 276 multi family units approved for development - nearly all have been developed.
